Andrea Csasni Rygh (NO/HU) is a dancer and choreograper based in Oslo, Norway. She received her dance education from the Royal Swedish Ballet School in Stockholm (2005), and Stockholm University of the Arts, and she has a MA in sosiology.
Andrea has worked as a dancer since 2005, for choreographer such as Sidney Leoni, Bjørn Elisson, Ivar Furre Aam, Katalin Lengyel and Eva Lundqvist. Together with the dance group Diggapony, she made a number of dance performances on stages such as Dansens Hus, Moderna Museet, Moderna Dansteatern, Stadsteatern, and Weld in Stockholm, as well as Black Box teater, Bergen Kunsthall, and Galleri Peder Lund in Norway.
Andreas more recent works include Danser med romaner - a piece for the public space of the library, shown as a work-in-progress at Torshov bibliotek in 2025, the solo-piece How should a dancer be? presented at the Stockholm university of the arts in 2024 and Overtone, a collaboration with Sidney Leoni for Mind the Gap in 2024. Andrea now planning for several collaborations in 2026-2027, including the interactive childrens performance Fuglekongen, which is premiering in 2026.
Andrea is doing a PhD in cultural sociology ending at the beginning of 2026, and is working interdiciplinary with dance and sociology, including sociological themes in her choreographic work.
